Antinori "Pian delle Vigne-Vigna Ferrovia" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2010
Out of Stock
“Fantastic aromas of dark fruits, mineral, bark and fresh mushroom follow through to a full body, firm and silky tannins and a long, long finish. Beautiful mouthfeel of velvety tannins. One of the greatest Brunellos ever made by Antinori. Drink or hold.” 98 Points – James Suckling
“Here's a wine that opens to a beautifully dark and bold appearance. The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Pian delle Vigne Vignaferrovia sees fruit sourced from a slightly higher altitude compared to the Brunello annata. As a result, you get more definition and sharpness here. This Brunello shows a great level of depth and structure with soft lines, a rich texture and general opulence. The wine is aged in small barrel and sees a second phase of aging in larger oak casks.” 93 Points – Robert Parker (Wine Advocate)
Argiano Brunello di Montalcino 2013
“Fantastic aromas of orange peel and dark berry with plenty of plum and cherry. Sweet tobacco and mushrooms. Full body, juicy and fruity with firm tannins and a fresh finish. Complex and gorgeous. Fine and very long.” 96 pts – James Suckling
“Shows laser focus and a precise delivery of aromas that makes and immediate and satisfying first impression. This is a delicately assembled wine that shows the deft hand of the winemaking team behind the scenes. Bright fruit and cherry is connected, in a careful embroidery, to spice, leather, tar and cured tobacco. There are subtle tones of ash and crushed mineral as well.” 93 pts – Wine Advocate
Argiano Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2012
“Plenty of ripe fruit with a wealth of plum and dark berry character. Rich and powerful. Full to medium bod, firm and silky tannins and a flavourful finish. I love the edgy tannins at the end that give it form. Beautiful now” 94pts – James Suckling
“With only 3,500 bottles made, the 2012 Riserva reveals luscious opulence and fruity richness. Like its peers from this hot vintage, this Riserva offers a softer and sweeter quality of fruit with extra textural richness at the back. This makes the wine more accessible without too much of a wait. It is aged in oak for two years and offers plenty of baking spice, white chocolate and cola on the velvety finish.” 94 pts – Wine Advocate
Collazzi Bastioni Chianti Classico 2015
Collazzi have been producing Chianti and Chianti Classico for generations, their style is classic Chianti Classico which is dry, clean, medium to full bodied with an array of dry herbs and beautifully perfumed. This is one of the best Chianti Classico that we have seen in a long time. Something that is very approachable now but will also cellar for the next 4-5 years.
Grati Chianti Riserva 2012
A stunning Chianti Riserva that delivers an array of dry flowers and herbs with wonderful structure and concentration. This is something that is ideal with pastas, prosciutto or any cured meats. The 2012 Riserva is approachable now but it will also cellar for the next 3-4 years.
Nannetti Brunello di Montalcino 2006
Out of Stock
Our first super deal on this was the 2004 vintage. We are lucky to have another super deal on the 2006 which is such as 2004, one of the greatest vintages in the history of Tuscany and Brunello. This is what Brunello really should be, with great structure, enormous concentration and depth, robust and full bodied yet elegant. It takes a little while to open up so decanting is strongly advised and after about a couple of hours you will see what real Brunello di Montalcino is, minerally, focused and pure. When you take the price compared to its quality, there is only one way to describe it: a pure bargain. Can be cellared for up to 10 years.
Tenuta San Guido Guidalberto 2014
“The 2014 Guidalberto is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, although the percentage of Merlot was reduced slightly in this vintage from 40% to 30%. Cabernet Sauvignon fared well during this difficult growing season, thanks to the advanced age of the vines and the hillside positioning of the vineyards. The Merlot was more problematic. This wine is the result of extreme fruit selection, nonetheless. Guidalberto is a medium-bodied red wine with a soft approach and bright berry flavors.” - Monica Larner, Wine Advocate Score: 89/100
Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2015
Out of Stock
"Having followed this wine's evolution in barrel for the past few years, it is an honor to evaluate the final product. This Sassicaia has blossomed since my previous encounters with it as a young, awkward adolescent. The long-awaited 2015 Bolgheri Sassicaia represents a tremendous effort that comes together with seamless precision and focus. This is a confident and proud red wine from Tuscany. Starting with the primary material at hand, you sense the quality of fruit thanks to the wine's beautifully dark appearance and the rich texture it offers to the palate. The acidity is integrated, but more freshness still would have been welcomed in my view (and would also contribute to its longevity). The bouquet is amplified both in terms of volume and length. Its playlist includes dark berry fruit, spice, leather, licorice and roasted coffee bean. Yet, the mouthfeel is extremely graceful and silky. The wine's undisputed pedigree is showcased on the palate. It should also be noted that this edition of Sassicaia feels more ready and open to me. It will age and evolve beautifully, but the 2015 Sassicaia can also be enjoyed in the medium-term. This wine is all about the here and now."
97 Points, Monica Larner, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"Love the aromas to this young red with blackcurrants, sage, cinnamon and five-spice character. Changes all the time. Full-bodied, dense and powerful with a ripe and rich tannin backbone that gives form and beauty to the ripe and beautiful fruit. Tight and very long. Approachable now but will reward more in five to six years. A classic Sassicaia."
98 Points, James Suckling
"Rich and concentrated, this red features black currant, blackberry, violet, mineral and spice flavors. Dense yet lively, structured yet impeccably balanced, with vibrant acidity driving the long, fruit-filled aftertaste. The oak is beautifully integrated. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2023 through 2042."
97 Points, Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator (WS #1 wine of 2018 "Top 100 Wines of 2018")
Tenuta dell'Ornellaia "Ornellaia" 2015
“The 2015 Ornellaia is a dream wine with magnificent balance. All the elements are in the right place. In most vintages, Ornellaia needs time to fully come together, but the 2015 is just impeccable, even in the early going. The warm vintage notwithstanding, winemaker Axel Heinz crafted and Ornellaia is more about finesse and power. The potent, bruising tannins Ornellaia can show as a young wine are nowhere to be found. Bright raspberry jam, mint, white flowers and pomegranate are some of the many notes that punctuate the finish in a memorable Ornellaia that will go down among the great vintages produced at this reference-point estate.”
Score: 98, Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, April 2018
“A big, brooding red, packed with blackberry, plum and earth flavors, all wrapped in spicy oak. Monolithic now, finishing with saline mineral elements, a leafy, tobacco edge and dense, mouthcoating tannins. Terrific potential. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2023 through 2038.”
