Argiano Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2012
“Plenty of ripe fruit with a wealth of plum and dark berry character. Rich and powerful. Full to medium bod, firm and silky tannins and a flavourful finish. I love the edgy tannins at the end that give it form. Beautiful now” 94pts – James Suckling
“With only 3,500 bottles made, the 2012 Riserva reveals luscious opulence and fruity richness. Like its peers from this hot vintage, this Riserva offers a softer and sweeter quality of fruit with extra textural richness at the back. This makes the wine more accessible without too much of a wait. It is aged in oak for two years and offers plenty of baking spice, white chocolate and cola on the velvety finish.” 94 pts – Wine Advocate
Argiano Brunello di Montalcino 2013
“Fantastic aromas of orange peel and dark berry with plenty of plum and cherry. Sweet tobacco and mushrooms. Full body, juicy and fruity with firm tannins and a fresh finish. Complex and gorgeous. Fine and very long.” 96 pts – James Suckling
“Shows laser focus and a precise delivery of aromas that makes and immediate and satisfying first impression. This is a delicately assembled wine that shows the deft hand of the winemaking team behind the scenes. Bright fruit and cherry is connected, in a careful embroidery, to spice, leather, tar and cured tobacco. There are subtle tones of ash and crushed mineral as well.” 93 pts – Wine Advocate
Castellani Chianti 2016
A wonderful specimen of Chianti more on the classical traditional style exhibiting saline notes, spice, dry herbs, quintessential Tuscany! Medium to full body with lovely racy acidity, vibrant and fresh. Even though it is obviously not the greatest Reserva but when it comes to value for money look no further! Drink now or over the next couple of years.
Castellare di Castellina I Sodi di San Niccolo 2013
“The 2013 I Sodi di S. Niccolò is 85% Sangioveto (a more antique name for Sangiovese) and 15% Malvasia Nera from a single vineyard. This wine opens to a darkly saturated appearance and shows ruby, garnet and purple highlights. The bouquet is powerful but seamless at the same time with smooth transitions between dark cherry, spice, tobacco and moist clay. In the mouth, this wine shows dense extraction, but it never feels too weighed down by that mass. Instead, the freshness of the fruit and the natural acidity give the wine a bright and buoyant personality. Aged in barrique for 30 months, this is a delightful Tuscan red. - Monica Larner” -- 96/100 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Castellare di Castellina Chianti Classico 2016
There is Chianti and there is Chianti… but this is super Chianti Classico! Old fashioned with wonderful saline flavours, medium to full-bodied with aromas of prosciutto, cypress and dry meats. When we said there is Chianti and there is Chianti, we mean this is the true classical style being dry, high acidity, beautifully perfumed, lovely balance and almost seductive, once you try it you always go back to it!
Straccali Chianti Classico 2016
This is Chianti Classico, this is definitely Chianti Classico… When we were trying this it took a while to open up but when it did it was on point. This is always the case with Chianti Classico, it’s almost like a spring flower waiting for the summer. This is exactly what you expect from Chianti Classico, roasted meats, pancetta on the grill and freshly sliced prosciutto, lovely perfume with hints of pine nuts and lavender with a pinch of sea salt, medium to full bodied, expressive and concentrated. It only needs a beautiful Tuscan dish to go with it. Drink now or over the next 5 years, enjoy because you’ll love it!
Straccali Chianti 2017
Chianti and Tuscany are basically synonymous, made from Sangiovese and a little Canniolo, it expresses the nature and terroir of Chianti, perfumed, slightly floral, saline, dry and clean yet almost addictive. Medium bodied with lovely texture, concentration and enough power, soft, persistent and an ideal partner for any Tuscany dish, pastas, lasagne etc. Drink now or over the next couple of years.
Straccali Toscana Rosso 2016
Rosso di Toscana or simply put, red from Tuscany, as the name indicates can vary a lot but this is one of the best value for money reds from Straccali. It’s quite unbelievable the sheer quality, flawless winemaking and accuracy that they put into this wine even though it is quite a straightforward and simple wine. 2016 is a good vintage in Tuscany, this is ripe with hints of grilled pancetta, prosciutto and a touch of salt. Simply put, Tuscany in a glass! Drink now at about 17-18 degrees, not too warm and over the next few years.
Nannetti Brunello di Montalcino 2006
Out of Stock
Our first super deal on this was the 2004 vintage. We are lucky to have another super deal on the 2006 which is such as 2004, one of the greatest vintages in the history of Tuscany and Brunello. This is what Brunello really should be, with great structure, enormous concentration and depth, robust and full bodied yet elegant. It takes a little while to open up so decanting is strongly advised and after about a couple of hours you will see what real Brunello di Montalcino is, minerally, focused and pure. When you take the price compared to its quality, there is only one way to describe it: a pure bargain. Can be cellared for up to 10 years.
