Quintessential Rosé from the Rhone valley with a lovely blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre that made with the right proportions, they offer a beautiful fresh, floral and perfumed wine that palate wise is expressive, incredibly fresh and balanced. It’s almost like freshly picked wild strawberries on a sunny day! Put it in the fridge nicely chilled and have it with wild Salmon, beautiful! It’s almost like you are in Marseilles!
A stunning blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre that typifies what Ventoux is all about. On the nose it offers an array of dry spice, floral notes together with a beautiful freshness and punchy berry fruit which is followed by beautiful texture with hints of garrigue , mineral notes and almost with a hint of black olive and ratatouille.
From a good producer such as Chateau de L’Engarran, this is what Languedoc can do. A stunning, balanced blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mouverdre, with hints of dry spice, garrigue and dry herbs which is full bodied, structured and balanced. Quintessential Languedoc, once you open the bottle it takes you there! 2016 is a pretty good vintage which is starting to drink beautifully now however for those with a little patience, it will keep rewarding you for the next 4-5 years.
Cairanne, a relatively new appellation within the Cotes du Rhone, makes wines mainly from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. The 2016 a vintage which is starting to drink superbly now however with another 2 or 3 years it will only get better. Medium to full bodied with good concentration, balance and backbone. Wonderful aromas of thyme, pepper and roasted capsicum are very prominent but it is not only about fruit flavours, it also has excellent depth, length and beautiful balance. Drink now or over the next 4-5 years.
Perhaps one of the best value for money appellation in the Cotes du Rhone that encompasses what the true Rhone is all about. Relatively speaking, excellent value for money, full bodied with immense texture and complexity, robust with a great intensity but yet elegant, balanced and in other words a magnificent expression of Gigondas terroir made from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Approachable now however at its best in 5+ years’ time.
We have been importing this producer for a number of years now who is both a negociants and grower producing a wide range of top Cotes du Rhone wines. Chateauneuf-du-Pape is probably one of the best known appellations from this area and also one of the most prestigious. The 2018 vintage is a relatively warm vintage that has benefitted this particular Chateauneuf that even though young now, it will start to revel in 3-4 years. On the palate it's generous, tightly structured, clean and pure with hints of tapenade, crushed black pepper corns and roasted capsicum. Drink now or cellar for another 5 years plus.
