This co-fermentation of 96% Shiraz and 4% Viognier has lovely ripe and juicy berries flow through the palate which is medium-bodied, with soft and velvety tannins adding lovely structure and texture to the wine while sweet and briary spices balance the juicy fruit on the finish. Situated in South Australia's famous Barossa Valley, Langmeil’s award winning premium range is internationally recognized and has contributed towards the winery being regarded as one of the top premium wine producers in Australia.
"Deep red colour with tints of purple and a very plummy, fruit-driven gently herbal, earthy nose. A touch of graphite. Medium-bodied, smooth-textured, supple and very approachable now. Savoury, lingering aftertaste, lovely balance. I like the earthiness, minerality if you like, of this archetypal Barossa shiraz." -- 90/100, Bob Campbell MW
RWT Barossa Valley Shiraz presents an admirable alternative to the multi-regional sourcing and American oak maturation that are hallmarks of Grange, expressing instead, single region Barossa Valley shiraz matured only in French oak. The initials RWT stand for ‘Red Winemaking Trial’, the name given to the project internally when developmental work began in 1995. Naturally, now no longer a ‘Trial’, RWT Shiraz was launched in May 2000 with the 1997 vintage. Its style is opulent and fleshy, contrasting with Grange, which is more muscular and assertive. RWT is made from fruit primarily selected for its aromatic qualities and lush texture. The result is a wine that helps to redefine Barossa shiraz at the highest quality level.
Deep crimson in colour with violet hues. Lifted, exotic aromas of star anise, sage, bay leaf and fennel frame dark and brooding blackberry, Satsuma plum, mulberry and red currant notes. The palate is rich, plush and concentrated with amazing depth and complexity from succulent plum, blackberry and blueberry revealing star anise, black pepper, charcuterie and cedar. Balanced acidity provides freshness and structure, while layers of silky tannins result in an elegant finish with exceptional length.
An elegant Chardonnay, yet understated with great drive - a hallmark of Tumbarumba. Aromas of white peach, lemon and nougat with a complex structured palate of baked pastry and Brioche. Finishing long and fresh on the palate.
Our brand new arrival of the Calabria Estate Richland Shiraz 2018. It has a big rich purple colour with hints of lavender, bosom berry with a lovely purple hue. Made in the traditional style in open fermenters, the wine is intensely varietal with spicy black and white pepper, olive grove and an abundance of berry fruit. Excellent now or over the next 3-5 years.
Ripe fruit notes of dark plum and cherry along with background vanillin oak. Rich in colour with deep red tints, due to the low yield and low juice-to-skin ratio. For this wine, mostly large format puncheons and a 3000L cask are used. Dry ripe tannins give perfect structure and carry the sweet fruit right to the back palate. An impressive wine, which is a great follow on from the 2014 vintage. Subtle but powerful.
This beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon has an enticing bouquet with rich aromas of black cherries, blueberries and cassis with some subtle forest floor nutmeg, tobacco and vanilla characteristics. On the palate, the wine is full bodied with lively and intense blackberry compote, eucalyptus progressing to the rich, dark chocolate characters and finishing with succulent tannins that lingers long after the wine has left your mouth.
Ringbolt have long produced great quality wines at a price point accessible to everyone, which is not a common from most Margaret River producers.
Margaret River has established an international reputation for exceptional Chardonnay. The Cape Mentelle style draws inspiration from traditional methods to deliver a wine displaying aromatic complexity and a finely textured palate with a long, clean finish.
This youthful wine is powerful, robust and complex displaying ripe pineapple, poached apple, frangipane and fresh cream aromas, with a honeyed richness highlighted by oak notes of fresh cedar and toasted hazelnuts. As the wine opens up, hints of vanilla bean, wet pebble, stone fruit and buttered popcorn emanate beautifully.
The palate is smothered with round ripe flavours of Fuji apple, dried mango, and wild rice pudding that is both creamy and unctuous. A complex array of fresh cashew, lemon peel, raw macadamia and nectarine notes flesh out this texturally expansive wine to complete this captivating expression of Margaret River chardonnay. Definitely a glorious full bodied wine!
Whilst this wine presents beautifully now it has the potential to age up to 15 years. The distributor of this brand is no longer importing into New Zealand so this will be your last bite of the cherry!
The original and most powerful expression of Penfolds multi-vineyard, multi-district blending philosophy, Grange is arguably Australia’s most celebrated wine and is officially listed as a Heritage Icon of South Australia. Crafted utilising fully-ripe, intensely-flavoured and structured shiraz grapes, the result is a unique Australian style that is now recognised as one of the most consistent of the world’s great wines. With an unbroken line of vintages from the experimental 1951, Grange clearly demonstrates the synergy between shiraz and the soils and climates of South Australia.
