  • Alan McCorkindale Rose Brut 2002 NZD $53.95 NZD $49.95 Out of Stock
His flagship label from a single vineyard that expresses the essence of superb Method Sparkling. A blend of 95% Pinot Noir and 5% Meunier and aged for 4 years of yeast lees. This is just sensational, lots of fruit, strawberries, marzipan, nutmeg, wild berries with lots of concentration, excellent middle palate and terrific bubbles. If your budget doesn’t allow for a top Rose Champagne, this is a great substitute.
  • Alan McCorkindale "Teviotdale" Pinot Noir 2009 NZD $42.95 NZD $39.95
An outstanding example of what Waipara can do with Pinot Noir. Exclusively sourced from Alan McCorkindale’s own vineyards which are low cropped, non irrigated, close planted and the results are obvious, ripe, not green like many others but lovely racy acidity, savoury rather than fruity, oaky and clumsy, concentrated with lovely middle palate. This is a Pinot Noir that you drink now but you may also keep for another 3-4 years. At the price of $39.95 it makes many others at double the price just very expensive!
  • Alan McCorkindale Viognier 2007 NZD $48.95 NZD $37.95
It is not often that we see Viognier of this outstanding quality from New Zealand. Having tried it alongside some excellent Condrieu, it delivers. It has got beautiful minerality, vibrancy and freshness and beautifully perfumed. A little on the young side at the moment but within a year it will fully integrate and will become richer and a more complete wine. What we like most about this particular Viognier is that it’s dry, it has great texture, excellent balance and is full bodied. For those wanting to try one of the very best Viognier in the country, this is it!
  • Pegasus Bay Dry Riesling 2007 NZD $38.95 NZD $36.95 Out of Stock
Pegasus Bay Riesling WebOne of the originals from Waipara that over the years have become one of the most reputable and established vineyards in the country, they produce various wines but we believe that Riesling is their trademark and for the first time they have released a completely dry version styled on the German version of dry Rieslings which are generally speaking more full bodied, weightier and have greater minerality, the emphasis really is on clean terroir driven fruit with airy, fresh and focused expressions. This has to be without doubt among the top 3 best Rieslings in the country. Drink now or cellar for the next 5 years.
  • Teviotdale Sauvignon Blanc 2007 NZD $23.95
We have featured the new Single Vineyard wines from Waipara made by Alan McCorkindale and here is his other, the Teviotdale Sauvignon Blanc. We like this; it's flinty with fresh white asparagus, a touch of cut grass but clean, dry, not flabby or sugary like some of the Marlborough cousins. But it is Sauvignon Blanc that you will enjoy drinking by itself or with food, it has soul, terroir, it's fresh, concentrated and it says something, it says "Drink me!"
  • Teviotdale Pinot Gris 2007 NZD $29.95 NZD $27.95
A completely new Single Vineyard offering from Alan McCorkindale who has been producing wine under his own label Alan McCorkindale and also the Awapuni Point. Named after the mountain range behind his property in Waipara, this is an exit from his usual style of Pinot Gris which has been more on the fruity side, to a cleaner more refined Pinot Gris which has good length, structure and an immense oily middle palate that is reminiscent of a good Alsace Pinot Gris. What we really like about this Pinot Gris is that it's dry, concentrated and has outstanding purity. Drinking well with fish or white meats or even as an aperitif. Drink now or cellar for another 2-3 years.
  • Alan McCorkindale Dry Riesling 2009 NZD $24.95 NZD $21.95
Alan McCorkindale has 21 years of international winemaking experience behind him, making wine in Burgundy, Champagne, Australia and Germany. This Riesling has been sourced exclusively from his vineyards in the Waipara valley. It is a wonderful expression of how good Riesling can be from this area. Extremely fresh and crisp with hints of lemon tart and citrus fruits. On the palate it offers complexity, richness and elegance with a wonderful balance of acidity texture and fruit. Drink now or cellar for another 3-4 years.
  • Cracroft Chase Woods Edge Single Vineyard Pinot Gris 2007 NZD $24.95 NZD $22.95
The fourth vintage of this outstanding Pinot Gris that offers great value for money. The wine is made in a dry, crisp almost Pinot Grigio style, on appearance, it is light green straw colour, the bouquet is unmistakeably Pinot Gris. On the palate it displays rich intense apple and fig characteristics with aromas of pear, at the same time with an incredibly oily middle palate which delivers a clean, crisp and persistent finish. Its minerally and great purity is reminiscent of a great Italian Pinot Grigio. Drink now or cellar for another 3 years.
  • Pegasus Bay Aria Riesling 2006 NZD $46.95
When it comes to Riesling in New Zealand the Pegasus Bay Aria is synonymous with excellence. The style is semi sweet, low alcohol, intensely perfumed and flavoured. It's a whole bunch of Noble Botrytis infected parcels of grapes all picked at different times. The aromas are of ripe stone fruits, nectarine and orange blossom with hints of passionfruit and melon. On the palate it is mouth filling and luscious but yet with a core of minerality and vibrancy. It is clean showing good focus and purity. It is made in very small quantities and without doubt probably the best Riesling in the country.
  • Alan McCorkindale Pinot Gris 2009 NZD $29.95 NZD $24.95
The new exciting vintage of Alan's Pinot Gris from his vineyard in Waipara, it promises all the great attributes that it always had plus being single vineyard and an excellent vintage. Full bodied, racy and expressive with hints of turkish delight, fig and ripe pear, broad middle palate, clean and focused but yet not overly sweet or cloggy but remaining fresh, crisp and pure. In essence, what superb Pinot Gris should be.
  • Alan McCorkindale Gewurztraminer 2009 NZD $24.95 NZD $23.95
Alan McCorkindale is undoubtedly becoming one of the true classic wine makers from this country. Most of you will be familiar with his wines as we have pretty much supported him from the very beginning. His Gewérztraminer which was sourced from his own Waipara vineyard is a classic expression of this grape variety in being spicy, floral and rich with hints of rose petals, Lychee and turkish delight. The wine is starting to drink beautifully now but it will also further develop for a few years to come. It is extremely clean, almost peppery and with outstanding frontal fruit. Ideal with Asian dishes or quite spicy food.
  • French Bay Pinot Gris 2009 NZD $18.95 NZD $17.95
Our latest addition to the French Bay family! Pinot Gris, again made by Alan McCorkindale, who really knows aromatics very well, a complete varietal expression of Pinot Gris that is concentrated, succulent, rich and very aromatic especially of pear, fig and ripe melon. This is superb with fish and white meats but also excellent as an aperitif. A wine that suits the summer weather and considering its quality it delivers well above its price level. Drink now or over the next couple of years.
