A very clear example that not all Pinot Noir from Otago has to be sweet, over blown, over oaked and generally speaking, over priced. This is almost the opposite, we are trying it as we speak together with a very good Aloxe Corton from Burgundy and although it is not Burgundy, the fundamentals are there. It’s racy, savoury and has an excellent middle palate, vibrant and fresh with lovely ripe even tannins. Again what we like about this is its elegance, balance and structure which frankly are the essentials.
