Spain, Southern Italy and Argentina have become over the last 10-15 years the drivers and innovators among oceans of wine. Just to think that these areas and in particular Southern Italy just 20 years ago were making bulk, run of the mill and production driven wine is very hard to believe nowadays. Primitivo is an ancient grape dating back to the Phenicians and Greeks that are able to make wine both for immediate consumption and cellaring. This particular wine is made very much in a modern style yet never ignoring its terroir, dark in colour, juicy with aromas of dark black truffle, dust, sea salt and game, a superb balance and texture will ensure that the wine can cellar for up to 5 years plus but also beautiful at the moment.
