  • Louis Roederer Cristal 2009 (Gift Box) NZD $389.95 NZD $374.95
Cristal, created in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II in Russia is one of the most unique Champagnes in the world. It is in fact the only one with a flat bottom bottle which was requested by the late Tsar because he thought it was being short measured. This is champagne at its finest, as inspired today as it has always been, the embodiment of elegance and purity.Cristal is made according to the strictest criteria, based on a dramatic selection process which applies to the vintage, cru, blends and finally the wines. Only Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes from the House's 10 most celebrated crus are used in the production of this legendary cuvée.... more »
  • Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 2014 NZD $349.95 Out of Stock
Lifted summer pudding aromas with sweet spices, a velevty texture and bramble finish. A huge wine offering both intensity and elegance with huge potential to develop and to mesmerise with age. 2022-2032. – Gérard Basset... more »
  • Domaine Dujac Echezeaux Grand Cru 2014 NZD $314.95 Out of Stock
The 2014 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a clean, precise bouquet, quite broody and introspective, a subtle marine influence infusing the black and red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, chalky tannin, tightly wound with a strict, saline finish that leaves the mouth tingling long after it has departed. This is a classy, quite sophisticated Echézeaux in the making, one that should be at the upper end of my banded score with requisite bottle age. 2020-2040. 92-94. – Neil Martin... more »
  • Dom Perignon 2006 NZD $299.95
This prestigious champagne needs very little introduction as its name has been synonymous with glamour, refinement and celebration over the years. Having tried one of these bottles recently, it is starting to evolve into a majestic, pure and clean wine with considerable depth and structure, superb bubbles, length and stature. Even though it's over 10 years old, it will further develop for a number of years with careful cellaring. It is suitable with a variety of dishes and obviously on its own.... more »
  • Joseph Voillot Pommard 1er Cru "Les Epenots" 2013 NZD $169.95 $159.95
Pommard is a Burgundy lover’s dream and one of the very best 1er Cru is Les Epenots. Between Volnay and Beaune to the north, the vineyards have a fair amount of limestone and clay producing an intense, powerful yet elegant and perfectly balanced wine. At the moment it shows a bouquet of wild flowers, violets and lavender followed by a dense, concentrated and powerful palate. Superb now of course but better at around 10 years.... more »
  • Pyramid Valley Angel Flower Pinot Noir 2015 NZD $149.95 NZD $139.95
Pyramid Valley situated in North Canterbury, in our view, establishes the top gear for New Zealand Pinot Noir. The owners have taken their inspiration from the great wines of Burgundy. Planted in slopes of clay limestone soils with a density of 12,000 vines per hectare which is incredibly high and managed pretty much biodynamical. No artificial pesticides, herbicides and the wine is made reflecting the vineyard and its terroir which means natural fermentation, no filtration, no artificial yeasts and no finings. As a result you have a medium to full bodied, soft and beautifully textured Pinot Noir that exhibits dry herbs, lavender, violets yet profound, pure and focused. In our view, one of the very best in the country.... more »
  • Pyramid Valley Earth Smoke Pinot Noir 2015 NZD $149.95 NZD $139.95
The same principles of biodynamic viticulture, no filtration, natural winemaking, apply to the Earth Smoke vineyard as it does to the Angel Flower vineyard however the Earth Smoke is a heavier clay, with a denser, wild, gamey outcome. Earth Smoke is richer, more intense and fuller bodied displaying wonderful acidity and middle palate. Will also cellar very nicely for the next 5 years plus.... more »
  • Dupont Tisserandot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers 2009 NZD $139.95 NZD $134.95
"This is consistently one of the very best wines in the Dupont line-up and it often challenges the grands crus. The '09 version is a stunner and Chevillon professes that it is the best example of the vineyard that he has ever made. An ultra fresh and distinctly earthy nose offers up a cool nose of red pinot fruit that introduces rich, intense and mineral-driven broad-shouldered flavors that possess buckets of dry extract that buffer well the otherwise very firm tannic spine on the impressively long and mouth coating finish. This is definitely worth considering."91- 94pts, Allen Meadows, Burghound... more »
  • Rippon Tinker’s Field Pinot Noir 2011 NZD $128.95 NZD $98.95
Rippon is synonymous with Wanaka and is one of the pioneers in the Central Otago region. The Mills family have been farming their land for almost 100 years. Their viticulture is organic with emphasis on growing outstanding Pinot Noir. The current generation headed by Nick Mills has extensive knowledge of Burgundy viticulture and winemaking methods. Full bodied, perfumed and soft, the emphasis here is on velvety textures, minimal winemaking intervention and let the vineyard do the talking! It will cellar beautifully for the next 8-9 years though very interesting to see how good New Zealand Pinot Noir can be when it’s done right.... more »
  • Bollinger Rose N.V. Brut NZD $126.95 NZD $119.95
A completely new Rosé from Champagne Bollinger. The creation of this non-vintage rosé has been long in the making and a dream of the House for over six years. This wine has evolved not as a curiosity, but as with all of the Bollinger cuvées, as a careful assembly of the very finest ingredients by their talented, passionate team. In the meticulous House style, Bollinger Rosé is modelled on the Special Cuvée blend, combining the fruits of previous harvests plus the addition of reserve wines from their cellars in Ay. The final component, which provides colour and delicate aromas of ripe red fruits, is a proportion of still red wine coming exclusively from Bollinger's Grand Cru Vineyards in the Cote d'Ay and Verzenay.... more »
