    Sancerre, the home of Sauvignon Blanc and still where the best wines from Sauvignon Blanc grapes are made. Jean Max Roger is a single Domaine with about 40 hectares of vineyard land and all of their wines are made exclusively from fruit out of their own vineyards. The 2005 vintage is a very good one. It encapsulates the real Sancerre, flinty, earthy, hints of dry herbs and gun powder. The palate is rich, clean with enormous purity, depth and focus. Ideal with shellfish, fish or light cheese.
