Domaine Joseph Voillot Pommard "Vieilles Vignes" 2005

The much applauded 2005 vintage that almost with no exception was one of the greatest ever almost across every region in Europe. We will not dwell too much on the 2005 Burgundy's as their pedigree are well known now, we'll just say that this is another terrific example of what Pommard should be, powerful, structured, concentrated and racy yet very elegant, balanced and incredibly focused. Interestingly enough it is a wine that is drinking very well now however it would offer tremendous rewards to those with the patience to wait for it. This is what Mr. Allen Meadows, one of the most renowned Burgundy experts had to say about it:
