Domaine de L'Arlot Les Suchots – Vosne Romanee 1er Cru 2007
NZD $152.95 NZD $149.95
From the most southerly portion of Suchots separated from Richebourg only by the small road and we have this outstanding Vosne Romanee, in Burgundy terms this exudes power, a thoroughbred with masses of tannin and concentration, quite bulky and well built, dense and expressive with a superb bouquet of lavender, spring flowers and violets. Mineral with an almost truffle/gamey interface, multi faceted and complex with pronounced purity and precision… Just superb! Cellar for 10-15 years.

Domaine de L'Arlot Clos des Forest St Georges - Nuits St Georges 1er Cru 2007
NZD $124.95 NZD $121.95
By no means a blockbuster, however it should not be after all this is classical red Burgundy at its best, soft, velvety with fantastic middle palate and structure. Lovely mineral characteristics with an almost animal and gamey edge, is all about texture and balance with generous middle palate, precision, focus and outstanding purity. This is one for the cellar with its lovely racy acidity and harmonies character should see it through for the next 10 years.

Domaine de L'Arlot Le Petit Plets - Nuits St Georges 1er Cru 2007
NZD $79.95 NZD $74.95
Domaine de L'Arlot owns various vineyards in Nuits St. Georges including some superb 1er Cru parcels. This is one of the outstanding 1er Cru vineyards that even though made from young vines, it's still absolutely magnificent. This is all about great finesse, balance and silkiness. A bouquet of fresh berries, truffle and dark berry compote leads to a weighty palate that expresses excellent vibrancy, clean acidity and total harmony. Will cellar for 6-8 years.

Domaine de L'Arlot Le Petit Arlot – Nuits St Georges 1er Cru 2007
NZD $83.95 NZD $79.95
This is a great introduction to Nuits St Georges made from a blend of young vines from the Clos de L’Arlot it is expressive with red berry fruit that carries a whiff of spice with it that is also picked up by the clean, crisp, precise and overtly mineral suffused light to middle weight flavours that are linear and solidly persistent. Even though it is not an overly complex wine is still exhibits beautiful balance and panache. Drink over the next 6-8 years.

Domaine de L'Arlot Clos du Chapeau – Cote de Nuits Village 2007
NZD $61.95 NZD $59.95
One of the most aristocratic Domaines in Burgundy, which under the direction of Jean-Pierre Smet has reached spectacular heights. This is the baby of the family but yet the truth is, that it is still outstanding. Medium colour with a sweet faintly smoky bouquet, fresh subtle vanilla probably describes the aromas of this wine. The palate is about clean crisp acidity, with red berries, refined and great finesse. Simply outstanding and will cellar for 4-5 years.

Domaine Dujac Puligny-Montrachet 2006
NZD $79.95 NZD $76.95
Classical, classical Puligny, perfumed with notes of minerals and fresh cream, focused with an expression of pure fruit, no edges. Ample middle palate with racy acidity an immense personality, soft and elegant with a delightful finish. Even though a little young but already delicious, I’ll like to drink it in a couple of years.it will be magical.

Domaine Dujac Bonnes Mares Grand Cru 2006
NZD $349.95 NZD $329.95
Good full, deep red. Pungent minerality, pepper and blueberry on the nose. Then sweet and bright in the mouth, with superb energy and thrust in the middle palate. This tactile and very long wine turns uncompromisingly dry on the brooding, palate-saturating finish. Very backward wine. This cuvee is now roughly a 50/50 blend of fruit from light and dark soils with the addition of vines on "white soil" from the Thomas-Moillard purchase, notes Seysses, adding that "this has pushed us more in a Roumier direction."
-
Domaine Dujac Echezeaux 2006
NZD $282.95 NZD $264.95
Good deep red. Reticent red fruits, rose petal and minerals on the high-pitched nose. Suave and perfumed in the mouth, with red fruit flavours framed and lifted by sappy spices and flowers. The juicy finish shows sneaky length. This offers terrific potential but will require patience.
-
Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche 2006
NZD $304.95 NZD $279.95
Good deep red-ruby. Musky, meaty nose is dominated today by chocolate and minerals; lower-pitched than the Clos-Saint-Denis. Fat and sweet in the mouth, with an almost liqueur-like ripeness and wonderful silky depth. Offers compelling sweetness if not quite the detail of the Clos-Saint-Denis. Finishes with a boatload of chewy, granular tannins. Not especially perfumed today but this has the size of a 2005.
-
Domaine Dujac Morey Saint-Denis 1er Cru 2006
NZD $189.95 NZD $174.95
Good full red. Sexy, pure aromas of black fruits, brown spices and musky herbs. Lush, spicy and concentrated, with an enticing sweetness and serious stuffing. This dense and expressive wine really coats the sides of the mouth. The long finish feature plenty of ripe tannins.
-
Domaine Dujac Chambolle Musigny 2006
NZD $107.95 NZD $96.95
Good deep ruby-red. Dark aromas of black raspberry, blueberry, mocha, spices and herbs. Dense and fairly large-scaled, but with good lift and framing acidity to its flavours of crushed blueberry and blackberry. Finishes with firm, building, dusty tannins.
-
Domaine Dujac Morey Saint-Denis 2006
NZD $107.95 NZD $96.95
Medium red. Briary black raspberry, liquorice, menthol and a whiff of spice on the nose. Supple, concentrated and sweet, with good depth to its dark fruit and earth flavours. Finishes persistent, with dusty tannins.
