  • Chateau Vieux Robin 2000 NZD $39.95 Out of Stock
An outstanding example of a superb Médoc from a classic vintage. The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc and exhibits terrific mouth feel and good length with pedigree. At 6 years of age it is pretty much drinking at its peak though will also keep evolving over the next 3-4 years. This wine falls into the classification of Cru Bourgeois which really represents outstanding value for money. The palate is refined, with hints of savoury notes, black truffle, espresso and cassis. Ideal with roast beef, aged cheese etc.
  • Chateau Pontensac 1996 NZD $89.95 NZD $84.95

Long considered 'top of the class' of the Cru Bourgeois, Chateau Potensac is managed by Michel Delon, the proprietor of the Grand Cru Chateau Leoville-Las Cases. The similarities are obvious.

Excellent youthful colour in this great Medoc wine with a first class bouquet of ripe cabernet, cedar wood, minerals (due to the deep roots of the old vines) and creamy new oak. Entry fruit is firmish and quite tightly reined, yet this wine shows big fruit under the tannic core. The finish is long, nicely layered and expressive.

Young and a bit tight at the moment, this will age extremely well over the next 7 to 10 years.

  • Chateau Potensac 2005 NZD $94.95 NZD $89.95

Fine deep cassis fruit, quite full, grippy and long, the Saint-Julien of the Médoc. Drink 2009-2016.
    - Decanter Magazine 3/5

  • Chateau Rollan de By 2005 NZD $56.95

The dense 2005 Rollan de By offers terrific fruit, full body, loads of tannin and plenty of earth, black fruit, spice and forrest floor characteristics. It should round into shape in 2-3 years and keep for a decade or more.
    - Robert Parker 88-90

  • Chateau Les Grands Chenes 2009 NZD $46.95
Proprietor Bernard Magrez has fashioned a big time sleeper of the vintage composed of 58% Merlot and 42% Cabernet Sauvignon. It reveals a dense purple color as well as a powerful nose of black currants, licorice, and camphor, full body, and 6-8 years of drinkability.
