Dupont Tisserandot Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2009
NZD $89.95 NZD $84.95
153629
"A slightly fresher and more complex aromatic profile speaks of game, underbrush and dark berry fruit aromas. The earthy, rich, concentrated and serious medium-bodied flavors possess firm tannins and a velvety mouth feel on the solidly long finish. This is also very forward and should drink well young if desired."88 points, Allen Meadows, Burghound

Every single wine that he produces is exceptional. His Meursault, his Volnay, his Pommard etc. This is our latest exclusive import which is Old Vines Volnay made from Pinot Noir from the 2003 vintage. At the moment it shows a great bouquet of fungi, dry cepes and oyster mushroom. On the palate it is rich with an abundance of forrest floor, truffle and wet leaf. Mouth watering acidity, ripe with a little wild strawberry, incredible focus, length and purity. A total reflection of its terroir but yet with a modern appeal. For lovers of excellent Pinot Noir, we think you'll love this.

Domaine Joseph Voillot Pommard "Vieilles Vignes" 2005
NZD $68.95
152825
The much applauded 2005 vintage that almost with no exception was one of the greatest ever almost across every region in Europe. We will not dwell too much on the 2005 Burgundy's as their pedigree are well known now, we'll just say that this is another terrific example of what Pommard should be, powerful, structured, concentrated and racy yet very elegant, balanced and incredibly focused. Interestingly enough it is a wine that is drinking very well now however it would offer tremendous rewards to those with the patience to wait for it. This is what Mr. Allen Meadows, one of the most renowned Burgundy experts had to say about it:A very Pinot nose of airy red Pinot fruit nuanced with subtle hints of earth, underbrush and a hint of animale gives way to serious, powerful and punchy flavours that are attractive and persistent. Mosnier Chablis Vielles Vignes 2009
NZD $39.95 NZD $36.95
153487
Sylvian Mosnier is an aristocratic producer with a tradition of excellence in Chablis, this is his old vines that in many cases, represents excellent value for money, almost as good as a 1er Cru but without the price. His 2009 is composed, focused and tense with lovely minerality, softly textured and abundant in acidity. Something that will drink very well within the next 4-5 years due to its freshness and also even if it’s capable of aging, Chablis when young can be extremely refreshing and flinty and this is how it is! Flinty, perfumed, mineral and profound. Excellent when young but it will also develop for 4-5 years.
