    112480
Chateau de L’Engarran enjoys a tremendous reputation and history in the Coteaux du Languedoc rose is one of Chateau’s specialities. Made from Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, this Rose is made from the juice that has seeped from the grapes without any artificial pressure. Its bright red colour and cherry red currant aromas lead into a smooth, round, long and well balanced palate of strawberry and a distinctive terroir flavour of the area, crisp and dry. Great on its own or with grilled fish, it is a perfect summer wine as it is light but flavoursome and aromatic. Enjoy it now.
  • Coteaux du Lyonnais Rose 2009 NZD $17.95 NZD $16.95
    153360
Our brand new addition from Coteaux du Lyonnais, a lot of you will be familiar with the white and the red but for those with a fetish for rose this is simply put outstanding. Made from Gamay Noir, lightly pink and dry with aromas of fresh and wild strawberries, very fresh, light and perfumed, just the kind of wine for a sunny Sunday lunch or picnic. We also love this rose because it is light and crisp but still has structure and minerality, in essence what a good rose should be.

  • Bollinger Rose N.V. Brut NZD $144.95
    153125
A completely new Rosé from Champagne Bollinger. The creation of this non-vintage rosé has been long in the making and a dream of the House for over six years. This wine has evolved not as a curiosity, but as with all of the Bollinger cuvées, as a careful assembly of the very finest ingredients by their talented, passionate team. In the meticulous House style, Bollinger Rosé is modelled on the Special Cuvée blend, combining the fruits of previous harvests plus the addition of reserve wines from their cellars in Ay. The final component, which provides colour and delicate aromas of ripe red fruits, is a proportion of still red wine coming exclusively from Bollinger's Grand Cru Vineyards in the Cote d'Ay and Verzenay.
  • Taittinger Prestige Rose N.V. NZD $129.95 NZD $89.95

  • Tummil Flat Rose 2009 NZD $13.95 NZD $11.95
    153392
It might seem ironic but after trying many New Zealand Rosé, this is one of the very best available at probably one of the very best prices. As we said, ironic but true. A traditional style of Rosé made from Pinot Noir with very light skin contact hence it is beautifully salmon pink in colour. On the palate it is what true Rosé should be, light, dry, fresh, crisp and flinty with lovely fresh strawberry like fruit and refreshing acidity. Ideal for summer picnics, fish, cheese and at the price you should get yourself a couple of cases for summer. You cannot go wrong!
  • Alan McCorkindale Gewurztraminer 2009 NZD $24.95 NZD $23.95
    112664
Alan McCorkindale is undoubtedly becoming one of the true classic wine makers from this country. Most of you will be familiar with his wines as we have pretty much supported him from the very beginning. His Gewérztraminer which was sourced from his own Waipara vineyard is a classic expression of this grape variety in being spicy, floral and rich with hints of rose petals, Lychee and turkish delight. The wine is starting to drink beautifully now but it will also further develop for a few years to come. It is extremely clean, almost peppery and with outstanding frontal fruit. Ideal with Asian dishes or quite spicy food.
  • Domaine Dujac Echezeaux 2006 NZD $282.95 NZD $264.95
    153159
Good deep red. Reticent red fruits, rose petal and minerals on the high-pitched nose. Suave and perfumed in the mouth, with red fruit flavours framed and lifted by sappy spices and flowers. The juicy finish shows sneaky length. This offers terrific potential but will require patience.

  • Ata Rangi Pinot Noir 2010 NZD $84.95 NZD $62.95
    11406
Ata Rangi over the years has consistently made top flight New Zealand wines across the board but perhaps it has been their Pinot Noir which has elevated them to the level they are at now.Sleek with ultra supple tannins that supports vivid and slightly rustic red fruits, very young and still very fresh with stone and black cherry notes. The palate is well structured supported by excellent acidity with hints of dark chocolate and rose petal. This is obviously very young but as always, Ata Rangi is able to age for a number of years, as it does a lot of the present fresh fruits will turn savoury and much better integrated. Cellar for 4-6 years.
  • Te Mata Awatea 2010 NZD $44.95 NZD $29.95
    111050
The grapes for Awatea ’10 were hand harvested from Te Mata Estate’s vineyards between 4 April and 6 May 2010. The separate parcels of grapes were destemmed before a traditional warm, plunged fermentation and extended maceration on skins. The resulting wines were then run to new and seasoned French oak barrels for 18 months’ ageing. Throughout this time, they were regularly topped and racked. The separate wines were blended in January 2011, then returned to barrel for their second winter. The finished wine was then egg white fined and bottled in November 2011.Awatea ’10 is a dark magenta colour with aromas of fresh blackberry and raspberry infused with rosemary and sandalwood. The palate is pure, powerful, and well balanced, with mineral freshness and fine, powdery tannin warmth contributing to its length.Awatea ’10 is a blend of 42% cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot, 12% cabernet franc and 6% petit verdot. It will continue to evolve in bottle, providing great enjoyment up to 10 years from harvest. It is a natural partner for savoury red meat dishes and hard cheeses.
