Bollinger Rose N.V. Brut
NZD $144.95
153125
A completely new Rosé from Champagne Bollinger. The creation of this non-vintage rosé has been long in the making and a dream of the House for over six years. This wine has evolved not as a curiosity, but as with all of the Bollinger cuvées, as a careful assembly of the very finest ingredients by their talented, passionate team. In the meticulous House style, Bollinger Rosé is modelled on the Special Cuvée blend, combining the fruits of previous harvests plus the addition of reserve wines from their cellars in Ay. The final component, which provides colour and delicate aromas of ripe red fruits, is a proportion of still red wine coming exclusively from Bollinger's Grand Cru Vineyards in the Cote d'Ay and Verzenay.

On the palate it is what true Rosé should be, light, dry, fresh, crisp and flinty with lovely fresh strawberry like fruit and refreshing acidity. Ideal for summer picnics, fish, cheese and at the price you should get yourself a couple of cases for summer. You cannot go wrong!

Alan McCorkindale Gewurztraminer 2009
NZD $24.95 NZD $23.95
112664
Alan McCorkindale is undoubtedly becoming one of the true classic wine makers from this country. Most of you will be familiar with his wines as we have pretty much supported him from the very beginning. His Gewérztraminer which was sourced from his own Waipara vineyard is a classic expression of this grape variety in being spicy, floral and rich with hints of rose petals, Lychee and turkish delight. The wine is starting to drink beautifully now but it will also further develop for a few years to come. It is extremely clean, almost peppery and with outstanding frontal fruit. Ideal with Asian dishes or quite spicy food.

The separate wines were blended in January 2011, then returned to barrel for their second winter. The finished wine was then egg white fined and bottled in November 2011.Awatea ’10 is a dark magenta colour with aromas of fresh blackberry and raspberry infused with rosemary and sandalwood. The palate is pure, powerful, and well balanced, with mineral freshness and fine, powdery tannin warmth contributing to its length.Awatea ’10 is a blend of 42% cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot, 12% cabernet franc and 6% petit verdot.
