  • Te Mata Coleraine 2016 NZD $144.95 NZD $114.95
    154836
Brilliant magenta, Coleraine ’16 entices with concentrated rose syrup, fresh, fragrant raspberry, wild strawberry, ripe plum, thyme and cedar. Offering superb depth and complexity, Coleraine ’16 is defined by a precise, lazer-edge of pure, bright, red fruit. Framed by tight acid and silky tannins, all this extends elegantly into an exquisite and super-fine crescendo, giving exceptional length and finesse to the wine. 120 years after Te Mata planted cabernet vines in the Havelock Hills, Coleraine ’16 captures the finest expression of the estate’s unique Hawke’s Bay vineyards.... more »
  • Dos Dedos Syrah Viognier 2009 NZD $43.95 $34.95
    153659
Made by Noel Robertson M.W. originally from Scotland but based in Spain for over the last 20 odd years. He basically specialises in getting very old vines, low yielding, with spectacular concentration and depth. This is basically what this is, old vine Syrah which is impeccably rich, powerful and concentrated, almost reminiscent of a Chateauneuf-du-Pape, the 2009 is drinking beautifully now, full bodied, expressive with great power and clarity and even though it is approachable now, it will also cellar for the next 5 years plus.... more »

  • Simon Bize Bourgogne "Les Perrieres" Rouge 2015 NZD $52.95 NZD $49.95
    154811
This is the red equivalent and also the entry level for Simon Bize but it’s beautifully made, medium to full body with a lovely texture, dry herbs, hints of rosemary and lavender and for an entry level red Burgundy, it punches well above its weight. Again being that it’s a 2015, it helps because it was such a superb vintage. Drinking well now or over the next 5-6 years.... more »
  • Simon Bize Bourgogne "Les Champlains" Blanc 2015 NZD $39.95 NZD $36.95
    154809
A very low yielding, non-irrigated vineyard cropped at less than 3 tonnes per acre. The wine is golden green colour with a bouquet of Brioche, Marzipan and toffee. The palate is long and concentrated with a barrage of minerals, dry fruit and almonds, a high degree of acidity, good extraction and extended lees aging. The wine is an example of balance and equilibrium, full bodied with a persistent and pure finish. Will cellar for 3-5 years plus.... more »
  • Simon Bize Bourgogne "Les Perrieres" Blanc 2015 NZD $52.95 NZD $48.95
    154810
2015 is becoming apparent that it will become one of the great classic vintages. This is beautiful white Burgundy, mineral, full bodied with hints of brioche, pure white cream and just beautifully balanced. It’s not an exaggeration that once you try this it will almost remind you of a junior Puligny Montrachet. We think that this is probably his best effort up to date! Will keep for 4-5 years.... more »

2015 in Burgundy will go down as one of the greatest vintages in recent memory and for Vincent Prunier it’s no different, this is a beautiful constructed Meursault, full bodied, balanced, beautifully layered and textured. It has concentration and depth with a hint of white cream and roasted almonds. Even though it is a little on the young side it will cellar for the next 4-5 years.... more »
  • Pietra Primitivo Susumaniello 2015 NZD $29.95 $23.95
    154703
If full bodied red wine is what you like, this is it. Powerful and concentrated with lots of supple soft tannins, rich with hints of pepper, dry herbs and stewed fruit. Both these grape varieties complement each other extremely well and even though these wines tend to be drunk fairly youngish, serious producers such as this can make stunning and excellent value for money wines.... more »
  • Pietra Susumaniello 2015 NZD $36.95 NZD $29.95
    154701
Susumaniello has been grown in Puglia for centuries. Almost always used as a blending grape and lately also vinified on its own. If properly grown, it can make stunning, full bodied juicy and aromatic wines with hints of dry herbs, dark fruits and wonderful depth and concentration. This is the case here even though it’s quite approachable now, it will also cellar for a number of years and this is just perfect with BBQ red meats, cheeses etc.... more »

    154593
Scents of ripe stone fruits lead to a dry, smooth and intense palate with subtle notes of white blossoms, citrus zest, and a touch of toasted bread and elegant, fine bubbles fills the mouth with creamy texture. Energetic and clean, Col Vetoraz Prosecco complements a wide variety of foods, making it an ideal to pour with appetizers, salads, even brunch! Located in Cartizze, one of the prime areas of the Valdobbiadene region of the Veneto, Col Vetoraz grows its grapes organically at about 1,300 feet above sea level on very steep hills in vineyard sites where the Prosecco, or Glera, grape has grown since 1838. The grapes ferment in temperature-controlled stainless steel, and wine enjoys a second fermentation in tank in the “Charmat” method.... more »
