  • Chateau Lanessan 2001 NZD $44.95 NZD $39.95
    153552
"Lanessan's 2001 is a consistent overachiever in Haut-Medoc. This wine nearly rivals the outstanding 2000. It is a seriously-extracted, dark ruby/purple-colored offering with ripe cassis fruit, notes of leather and earth, and a hint of truffles. It is medium-bodied, pure, and savory, with copious tannin. It will age well for 10-15 years. Drink 2002-2017" Robert Parker (April 2002)
  • Chateau Lanessan 2000 NZD $54.95 NZD $49.95
    153605
"Delicious, complex effort, the fully mature 2000 Lanessan offers notes of cedarwood, plums, loamy soil, and damp earth, medium to full body, plenty of spice, and a classic Bordeaux personality. It should drink well for another 7-10 years. Drink 2010-20" Robert Parker (June 2010)
  • Breaksea Sound Pinot Gris 2010 NZD $17.95 NZD $16.95
    153598
Made by master of wine Steven Bennett, this reflects what can be done with old vines, lees aging and not much over winemaking, just fantastic basic fruit, low cropped and fermented to complete dryness. This is really a very special offer as this used to be around the $20 mark and now for this month only at $16.95. An excellent deal on an outstanding Pinot Gris!
  • Valli Bannockburn Vineyard Pinot Noir 2009 NZD $64.95 NZD $54.95
    153403
As is the case with Valli’s other Pinot Noirs, the aim is to capture the essence and terroir of Otago’s sub-regions. This is from Bannockburn from quite an elevated vineyard which is fairly cool in comparison to Bannockburn as a whole, obviously dry however situated in free draining soils with very little irrigation, close planted and fairly old vines. The result is a medium to full bodied Pinot Noir that reflects its terroir completely. At the moment it’s showing violets, spring flowers and lavender, very well balanced and elegant. This will also cellar for the next 4-5 years.
  • Domaine Dujac Puligny-Montrachet 2009 NZD $69.95 NZD $64.95
    332211
Domaine Dujac also produces wine from selected growers that he has chosen many years ago. This is his Puligny-Montrachet 2009 that has produced a magnificent white Burgundy very much in tune with all the superb whites from this particular vintage. Typical Puligny-Montrachet, power, refinement, concentration and beautiful minerality, clean, very focused and still obviously remarkably young and will need another 3-4 years to show its true colours. At its price it is all what you would expect from Puligny.
  • Domaine Dujac Morey Saint-Denis 1er Cru 2009 NZD $159.95 NZD $149.95
    112233
This is perhaps one of the best value for money wines from Dujac. High tonned and muscular yet in the style of Dujac, soft, velvety with caressing tannins and acidity. It will need at least a decade to show its true colours and as is always the case, the 1er Cru Morey Saint-Denis will develop further for 5-7 years. At the moment it is closed and subdued but the ingredients are all there to develop into a majestic wine. As is the case from the 2009 vintage the wine offers an array of layers and dimensions, complex and structured. Cellar for 10 years plus.

The Domaine Dujac Morey St Denis 2009 is a wine that can be best described as a powerful yet with great elegance, lovely acidity and silky smooth texture. The wine expresses hints of truffle, violets, game and roasted almonds. The wine as is always the case with Dujac was traditionally made with a philosophy of minimum intervention and maximum expression of its terroir, it will need a good 8 years before it shows its true colours but it will be a well worth wait.
  • Pierre Paillard Grand Cru N.V. Brut NZD $93.95 NZD $69.95
    153559
One of the true aristocrats of Champagne with a pedigree and history of making the finest Champagne. This is exclusively from his Grand Cru vineyards and made exclusively in their own winery. This is a full bodied Champagne which displays lovely lifted aromas of apple, fresh fig and toasted brioche, lovely balance with great depth, tiny little persistent refined bubbles, in essence, what you would expect from a top notch Champagne.
  • Schist Face Pinot Noir 2010 NZD $31.95 NZD $28.95
    153577
A completely new vineyard and perhaps one of the ones that shows the most promise for the future. This is a relatively small vineyard of approximately 6-7 acres that has been close planted with the latest selected Pinot Noir clones that given time and with more vine age and adaptability to its terroir, there is no doubt that it will achieve wonderful results. This is the very first vintage and we have already tried this against other Pinot Noir’s on the market at about $40-$50 dollars and frankly it is just up there. It has very good texture, balance and structure yet it is displaying typical flavours and aromas of Central Otago such as thyme, red currant, violet etc. One thing is for sure that in its price bracket, it does offer excellent value for money which is not always the case with wines from this region.
  • Domaine Laffay Petit Chablis 2009 NZD $32.95 NZD $29.95
    152828
One of the small growers that has sustained the traditions and classical style of Chablis. For people that enjoy unoaked Chardonnay, this is a must, superb offering of riverbed pebbles, chalk, dry stone, superb minerality yet displaying incredible freshness, focus and flintiness. One of the great characteristics of Chablis is that it is able to offer full bodied wines with length, concentration and depth without having to result to any oak or oak aging. Enjoy now or over the next 2-3 years. Ideal with white meats, fish and shell fish.
  • Beso Cava Brut NZD $24.95 NZD $22.95

Over the last 10-15 years, Cava has been one of the biggest sparkling wines in the world mostly due to superb quality and excellent value for money.
